Flipping the Script: Capturing Comic Con Midlands 2026 Through the Eyes of Its True Stars
As an event videographer and filmmaker operating under Prysmos, I wanted to take a completely different approach for my latest project at Comic Con Midlands by Monopoly Events.
Instead of following the standard corporate playbook, I wanted to flip the script. Who are the true lifeblood of these shows? The attendees, the cosplayers, and the fans. People put months of sweat, time, and creative effort into crafting incredible outfits, with many traveling from all over the UK just to support the shows and share their passion. For this project, they deserved to be the absolute stars of the show.
Highlighting the Real Icons: Cosplay & Community
Walking the floor at Comic Con Midlands 2026 offered incredible visual opportunities for a digital content creator and videographer. The level of detail and effoert across the venue was staggering.

- The Mandalorian & star wars outfits bringing classic sci-fi energy.
- Intricately detailed Warhammer space marine and sisters of battle builds.
- Ghost from Call of Duty in full tactical gear.
- Striking Mystique makeup and character styling.
- Johnny Silverhand styling straight out of Cyberpunk.
On-the-Ground Mini-Interviews
Beyond capturing cinematic footage of the costumes, I wanted to capture why people keep coming back. I set up short, engaging mini-interviews with attendees asking what they love about Monopoly Events. These conversations served a double purpose: they highlighted the powerful sense of community that drives the convention scene, and they created authentic, organic promotional material showing new attendees why they need to experience these shows live.
I also managed to catch up with actors Callum Kerr and Tyrone Keogh, who shared their thoughts on the atmosphere and what makes these events so special for both guests and actors alike.
